The Lost Parks of Northern California

Synopsis

The Lost Parks of Northern California docu-series provides an inside look to six (6) of NorCal’s 30-plus bygone amusement parks. The show was produced from 2013 to 2015 in conjunction with filmmaker Kris Rowberry of Great American Thrills and the Northern California region of the American Coaster Enthusiasts.

The show, also hosted by Rowberry, features extensive use of on-location filming and interviews with those who experienced these parks first-hand, giving viewers a true glimpse into just how “lost” these parks actually are. Lost Parks was frequently covered by the local media, only helping in our efforts to spread the importance in preserving these former institutions of fun.

The series was my first foray into the documentary space, and a unique challenge I felt well suited for given my deep passion for the history of Northern California amusement parks. After Rowberry pitched the show concept to me in December 2012, I was ecstatic to work with him on the idea, one that kickstarted over a decade of on-going collaborating on documentary projects for ACE.
